Why him?!
About 4 hours ago, i was invited by an anonymous YM moderator to an online Islamic-academic circle/halaqa/usrah/whatever you name it. People whom joined the forum came from all around the world, from Japan to the United States. The speaker of the forum was a regular Malaysian-Malay-Muslim preacher, currently residing in Morocco (aka Maghribi), and he discussed a wide range of issues related to the Muslims ummah nowadays.
It is widely understood & accepted by the majority that there should be some ethical & moral concern towards everything we do, & this also applies to the quest of seeking of knowledge. 'Adab' is one of the fundamental teaching in the Islamic & many of the great world traditions. Unfortunately, this morally-behaved act has been neglected by the mass, in which i blame the media for not potraying the importance of it.
Despite being the 'Islamically-learned' people, some of the so-called 'alim' people look down towards those whom have no or very few background knowledge on Islam. We have to bear in mind that everyone has different provisions bestowed by Allah. Different doesn't mean unequal. The 'alim' might be different than the 'commoner', but i would argue that the former is not unequal than the latter. There were many factors contributing to my argument in which i do not wish to explain the its details at this moment.
There are several groups of people whom are really concerned with the foundations in the teaching of Islam. That is absolutely fine, no problem. Unfortunately, having to only care towards those whom are within the circle of the same people WITHOUT taking the concern of the others whom knew nothing or very few about Islam, i think, is not appropriate.
I came about to write this post after getting to know a person whom i may call now as my friend. He comes from a fairly moderate family, currently studying in Form 6 in Muar, Johor. He's a humble, easy-going 19-year-old lad, with an exceptionally great voice! He has similar voice as Mawi's & he's so articulate that he makes a good radio DJ. From the song he sang, i believe that he's an ardent fan of Mawi. He knows most of the songs Mawi sang & even some of the qosidah Mawi chanted (although he himself doesnt even know what qosidah means). Judging from our discussion, i could see that he might not have a good Islamic knowledge by-text, Islamic appreciation by-influence, and Islamic ethics by-surrounding. The reason for me in coming up with these deduction is based from my observation towards how he behaved during the online forum, how he reacted to some questions posed by me & the way he expressed himself publicly in the forum. Indeed, he's the young MAWI!!
I befriended him, and he's such a wonderful guy. And guys, there are simply a lot of people like him out there in our country.
1)Are we satisfied with our own circle of friends, empowering each and every one of us without cosidering the others whom are more in need?
or..
2)Are we committed in empowering ourselves, as well as opening our hearts in accepting and cherish every single soul, regardless of whoever they are.
You decide...

Thank you Akhi Ziyad...
Dr Muhammad Ziyad Sheikh Al-Ghannamah came to Cardiff (28 August - 1 September 2006) to visit her daughter whom is doing an attachment in Cardiff University (she recently graduated in Pharmacy from Nottingham University). He is a Syrian by origin, an Algerian by nationality & an O&G specialist by profession. He speaks fluently French & Arabic language, with a very little basic in English language.
I had the opportunity to have him as the first guest of my house. We (me, Rauna & Shidi) tried to be as hospitable as possible. I really enjoyed having him in the house, as if i'm adopting a 2nd father to a personal level. We shared many stories together. We prayed Solah Maghrib & Isha' together. We discussed several issues together. He guides me in sharpening my Arabic language, & taught me some French.
I'm deeply touched with his kindness. Alhamdulillah, thank God, he mentioned that he'll welcome me to Syria & Algeria whenever I feel like going there.
InshaAllah, until we meet again.
Barakallahu fiikum. May Allah's blessings be with you.

A good day to resume my long-awaited tasks...
Fresh..
I woke up quite early lately, thank God. I've made a decision to be the first person to turn up in the Probation Centre (the place I work as a cleaner every morning) before everyone arrives at about 5.30am.
Exams have finished 2 months ago, so do the resits (2 days back). Now i'm back on track.
First and foremost, let's start with some comments on todays news.
--------------------------------------------------------------------
Utusan Malaysia
1. 260 remaja diberi kaunseling dalam operasi khas
- a proactive move by Pertubuhan Kebajikan Darul Islah Selangor (PERKID).
- hopefully this effort will continue for the days, weeks, months & years to come, not just a gimic by some jokers whom tried to make the headline of a newspaper.
2. Pemuda Gerakan pertikai buku teks sejarah
- agreed
- what happened to Ahmad Boestamam, Burhanuddin Helmi, Yap Ah Loy, Gee Hin & Hai San clans, Chin Peng, Ust Abu Bakar Bashir etc. These people also contributed in getting rid of our countries' invaders. Is somebody trying to hide something here...?!
3. PM bentang Bajet 2007 4 petang ini
- don't miss it guys
- PM's speech text is available in this website: http://www.treasury.gov.my
- hehe....let's see if there's any rise in our scholarship! *wink*
4. Hiburan: Once minta maaf
- like we care! ( [-( )
ESPN Soccernet
1. Transfer deadline: No Cole deal confirmation
- waaaaa......Chelsea couldn't snap Ashley Cole...... sheesshhh... Oh well, we have already acquired Khalid Bouhlarouz. I guess we just have to be contented with that. Huh....Jose Mourinho, a man with crazy desires!
2. This season's EPL is going to be a very interesting one!
- Why??!
- Chelsea has built an incredibly strong team with specialist in every department (attacking, flank, midfield, defense, goalkeeping)
- Arsenal is going to strike a deal in getting Julio Baptista into the team! Whoa...
- Argentinian worder boys Tevez & Mascherano are joining West Ham
- Manchester United's former captain Roy Keane will be using his experience to ace Sunderland when he takes control of Sunderland this weekend as it's Manager
- There's a lot to cover here!
*side picture - Tevez & Mascherano
BBC News
1. Semen 'may fuel cervical cancer'
- really??!
