One fulfilled weekend

I went to Bristol last weekend.

I met a number of my Muslim friends, and we had an immense discussion. I loved it. Intellectually challenging & spiritually fulfilling. Loads of work need to be put in after this.

Despite a great weekend, I only managed to come back to Cardiff on Monday morning! Oh dear, I've wasted a large amount of money buying a new ticket, single return to Cardiff.
Arrive in Cardiff Central Station - 9.30am
Took a cab, and reached home - 10.10am
Urus diri 'ala pejuang' - 15 minutes
Ran from home to the International Office* - 30 minutes
Meeting with MSD-International Office-MSSCF - 11.00am-12.30pm

*My bike was borrowed by some friends, Malaysian Night purpose. Oh well....

A bit exhausted. I just found out tonight that my room was kinda messy! Will deal with it tomorrow, need some rest after having a session with a great international speaker here in Cardiff (for those of you who are not sure, check out Cardiff ISOC activities for more details. A Sheikh from Australia came to Cardiff today).

You know that I care for you. Allah's care is the best.
Hoping for your prayers for Allah to give me strength. Thank you.

Happy Birthday mama!

What do you really want?

I happen to know that some of my readers were looking for something catchy that could be talked, joked, or criticised about.

Congratulations! You found the right blog!

My dear friends,
Let me be straight & clear now.

What makes you feel you're better than me? Are you thinking of so-called 'developing' your 'political career'? What do you gain from criticising people? Is being glamorous, powerful, influential, successful and famous fulfilling to you?

My dear friends in Kelab UMNO & Kelab MCA, bear the fact that you're not the players that's driving the Malaysian politics. Whatever you do wouldnt make any difference to UMNO & MCA in Malaysia. If you'd like to be acknowledge, I would be more than happy to declare to whoever i meet that you're so-and-so in any of the club.

At least MSSCF is a non-partisan organisation, aspiring to cater the needs of it's members regardless of race, religion or ideology.

I have a dream of living in an environment of abundance of love, respect & honour. Alhamdulillah, I thank God, these things are already within & around me. I'm creating the possibility for you to experience this feeling too.

Let's put an end to quarrelling, criticising, intimidating, jeering and making fun of others.
Let's focus on our common interest.
Let's work together.

Guys,
I have many projects & ideas in mind, loads! If only you know what I'm working on....
Interested? Let me know, we'll discuss, and we can get the ball to start rolling.

Oh by the way, the game has already started. Feel free to let me know anytime if you're interested to be part of it.

Welcome to the club!

Plans

The Festival of Diversity is Cardiff's version Malaysian Night. This Saturday, 17th March 2007. All in all, the script was well written. Well done, Aston & Rashdan.

We just have to accept the fact that we cant change the world instantly. If we care about them, know them better. Accusing & cursing are such meaningless acts. On the other hand, those who organise stuff (events, programmes etc) should not coerce others. Forcing & intimidating people doing the things they dont like won't benefit us in the long term. Accept everyone as they are.
*tak faham maksud sebenar, takpe.

Oh well....

Missed

I've got a chance to chat with Suhaib this morning through YM. We discussed loads of things. It really brings back memories that we had together when he was here in Cardiff. Thanks for your critics, comments & ideas bro!

Will need to work more on my project. Call, meet, chat....anything.

You'll see what it is in a couple of months time

Thank you

Papa speaks a different language to our family. Our conversation was always (something like)...
"have you been to Switzerland?"
"how's the weather today?"
"Uncle this & that baru dapat Dato'"
"UMNO should bla bla bla, PAS should bla bla bla"

Mama, on the other hand, prefered to ask these sort of questions...
"baju sejuk cukup tak?"
"ada girlfriend ke? jangan nak gatal-gatal...grad dulu baru pikir"
"kenapa suara macam ketar-ketar? demam ke?"
"duit cukup?"

I called Papa yesterday, and asked his opinion on me as his son. As expected, he said that i am
-highly motivated
-tunggak family
-harapan keluarga
(all possible reason that you could easily find in textbooks)

I was a bit sad, coz I thought he's not being kind to me. Orang ganas ganas camni pun tiba2 bergenang air mata.

I had a conversation with Scott (a new friend) last weekend, and he said that that's how Papa says "I love you".

I love you Papa, and I appreciate all the things you gave me. You are what you are, and I do not need any reason to justify that I love you.

That's love, my friend. Love someone/thing/body as it is. For no reason.

No White Friday?

A few of us came to Bristol last night, and I was warmly welcomed by Al-Nazmi. He took me to his house and gave me a very warm hospitality here. Many thanks Al.

Alhamdulillah, thank God, a 6-months worth of allowances has just been deposited to my account from my sponsor. All praise due to God. Could start buying flight ticket back to Malaysia. Will save the rest for other important purpose.

Snow cascaded heavily yesterday, marking its thickness about an inch or two. Wansah and the others went to Brecon Beacons to enjoy the moment. Playing snowball, snow gliding, making snowman etc. I was in Cardiff as I had a practical to attend, unfortunately!

It's not snowing today...Oh well.....

Isn't it great to have our sins washed away and our hearts purified just like the smooth, beautiful white layer of snow?

Snowing!

It's snowing in Cardiff, and I'm so excited! Snapped some memorable pictures with Ahmad, Rahisyam & Dinie.

Ahmad successfully solved my 3-months-long computer problem yesterday. Kudos to him.

As I was typing this line, 'ada dengar pulak suara orang melayu kat luar rumah' (at Naseer's house)

"oi main snow oi! woi, main snow!"
"kitorang dah kluaq main2 kat Despenser Garden tu tadi dah....ko lambat aa"
"apa ni melayu bising-bising pagi-pagi ni oi!"

Huhu.....

Will upload some pics soon.

I'll be heading for Bristol this weekend, attending a self-development course.

Snow? ABC? Gula-gula kapas? huhu......

Touched

No matter how bold they look, how firm they potray themselves, how articulate their words, how critical their minds, how harsh they act.... men have their soft side, their hearts.

One's heart could easily be touched when....
-seeing someone who is dying in need, or,
-know that they are appreciated, or,
-know that they are loved, or,
-understand the purpose of life

Why am I writing this? Mixed feeling

(all weekends booked until May exam. See you next year, God willing *wink*)

Wondering...

One of my weaknesses is being forgetful at times...

"Wansah, mana specs aku?"
"Naseq, nampak x mana aku letak jam aku?"

Mama always reminded me...."tu lah, suka letak barang merata-rata!" huhu...

For the past 1 month, I have lost
-my favourite 512MB Pendrive (bought at PCFair in KL before coming to the UK)
-my pencil case (which i bought in 9/9/1999, the day i came to the UK when I was in Form 2, with Oxford & Cambridge on it)*
-i've misplaced one of my 2 spectacles somewhere. Must be at Wansah's place, i dont know...

Adeih....

Stuff to grab before summer
-A DVD videocam
Stuff to grab during summer (in Malaysia)
-a brand new laptop (urgently needed)
Despite not receiving any allowances for the past few months (until now), Alhamdulillah Thank God, I could still eat nice food, pay house rents & utility bills, wandering around the UK & Ireland, some spare change to donate the mosque. Truly, my friends, God loves us all!

Believe in Him! Love Him, for then shall everyone love us!

*My whole family went to the UK for about 3 weeks, Papa had a law-related course to attend in Cambridge. I was given a warning by my school headmaster as soon as I went back to classes. A "Surat Pekeliling" was released, mentioning that from that day onwards, students are not allowed to go overseas (either for vacation, Umrah or Hajj) during term time. Awfully sorry friends if it was because of me!

An invaluable asset that is forgotten: TIME

Extremely occupied this week. Rushing.
-will need to get some Pak Arab to sponsor one of our events. Hehe....here's when the contact list come in handy.
-assignment deadlines
-report submission
-meetings, conference

Will be going somewhere this weekend, re-energize, to face a more challenging week afterwards. Hence, will not be updating this blog (again!!) for the weekend.

God loves you
